La Isla Blanca
IBIZA
THIS IS A COMPLETE TRAVEL GUIDE ON THE CITY
Through the white of its walls at midday, the pull of its hidden coves, the euphoria of its clubs where nights stretch into mornings and no one is counting. This is an island that operates on its own terms, shaped by artists who came for a season and never quite left.
STAY
Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay
Set on the shores of Talamanca Bay, a short walk from Marina Botafoch and Ibiza's old town, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay occupies a rare position — beachfront without the compromise. The 152 rooms and suites are finished in whites, warm golds and aqua, with hand-blown glass lamps, rattan detail and artwork commissioned from local Ibizan artists throughout. Dining moves from Chambao's all-day seafood on the beach to the flagship Nobu restaurant, where Japanese-Nikkei fusion meets Balearic produce — the miso black cod and wagyu tacos drawing a crowd that arrives early and stays late. The Six Senses Spa and a rooftop bar take care of everything else. For those who want the full range of the island, the quiet coves, the architecture of the old town, the nights that justify the reputation, without sacrificing where they sleep, this is the address.

Hacienda Na Xamena
Perched 180 metres above the Mediterranean on a cliff edge in the pine-covered north of the island, Hacienda Na Xamena sits inside a protected natural park, far enough from the rest of Ibiza to feel like a different country. Designed by Belgian architect Daniel Lipszyc, the 77 rooms and suites are built into the cliffside itself, with floor-to-ceiling windows, private terraces and standalone jetted tubs positioned so that the sea is always the focal point. Dining is led by chef Fran López at the Eden Restaurant, one of the youngest chefs in the world to hold two Michelin stars, with the Los Nidos rooftop bar handling sundowners above the treeline. The cascading clifftop spa pools are the hotel's signature and arguably Ibiza's most singular view. For those who want the island at its most raw and its most quiet, with a standard of hospitality that does not require a compromise, this is where to stay.

Boutique Hotel Jardines de Palerm
Nestled in the foothills of Sa Talaia in the quiet southwest of the island, Jardines de Palerm is a restored 17th-century finca with nine individually designed suites, each with its own private terrace and finished in natural stone and warm wood. Originally established in the 1940s by an Austrian artist with a reputation for hedonism, the property has since found its identity in something altogether quieter. Two pools sit within terraced gardens abundant with native planting, one looking out across the Mediterranean, the other tucked into a shaded corner of the grounds. Dining is handled by Casa Linda on site, serving traditional Mediterranean cuisine built around local and seasonal produce. Ibiza Town is twenty minutes by car, the beaches of Es Vedrà a ten-minute drive, and the village of Sant Josep a five-minute walk. For those who want Ibiza without the noise it is known for, this is the address.

Nômade Temple Ibiza
Opening on the rugged northern shores of Portinatx in summer 2026, Nômade Temple Ibiza arrives as something genuinely new on the island. Designed by Oneness, the multidisciplinary studio co-founded by architect Bjarke Ingels, the 182-room property is built into the natural topography of the land using piedra blanca, sabina wood and terracotta, with arched interiors that balance earthy texture and bold geometry. Dining spans four venues: Tavla for Mediterranean-led sharing plates, 4Fuegos for fire-led cooking from local produce, Kuu Jū for intimate omakase, and Café Libre for coffee and pause. A cave-inspired spa anchored in water therapies, a recording studio for artists in residence, and a Temple space for sound healing, yoga and live performance complete the picture. For those who want Ibiza's creative and bohemian spirit without any of its excess, this is where the island is pointing next.

WHAT TO PACK
EAT

Cala Jondal, 07830 Sant Josep de sa Talaia, Ibiza, Spain
On the southern shore at Cala Jondal, set beneath a canopy of twisted sabina trees with the Mediterranean directly in front, Casa Jondal operates as the most considered beach restaurant on the island. The terrace is simple in the best sense, raw wood, natural shade, feet in the sand, with the setting doing most of the work. In the kitchen, chef Rafa Zafra, formerly of El Bulli and the acclaimed Estimar restaurants in Barcelona and Madrid, brings a rigorous approach to product that the surroundings deliberately underplay. The menu is built around daily seafood arrivals, moving from oysters and red prawn carpaccio through to whole grilled lobster, langoustines with garlic and razor clams with sherry, alongside Rubia Gallega beef and Iberian pork for those who want land over sea. The cooking avoids artifice entirely. For those who understand that the most confident restaurants rarely announce themselves, this is the address on the island.

Cala Jondal, s/n, 07830 Sant Josep de sa Talaia, Ibiza, Spain
Also on Cala Jondal, sharing the same bay as Casa Jondal but operating in an entirely different register, Blue Marlin Ibiza has spent over two decades earning its place as the island's most iconic beach club. The format is total: sun loungers and yacht delivery by day, a seafront terrace that shifts tempo as the afternoon deepens, and world-class DJs taking over as the light drops over the water. The kitchen runs a broad Mediterranean menu spanning fresh seafood, surf and turf, pasta and salads, served across the restaurant, terrace and beach, or sent directly to boats moored offshore. What sets Blue Marlin apart from the dozens of venues that have tried to replicate it is a consistency of atmosphere that two decades of operation have only sharpened. The music, the crowd, the location and the timing of the night all move together in a way that feels less programmed and more inevitable. For those who want to understand what made Ibiza's reputation, this is a useful place to start.

Ctra. Cap Negret, 16, 07820 Sant Antoni de Portmany, Ibiza, Spain
On the hillside of Cap Negret on the island's west coast, Madunia takes its name from Mama Dunia, meaning Mother Earth, and builds everything outward from that premise. The architecture steps down the natural terrain across multiple levels, with intimate outdoor dining areas and a rooftop terrace positioned directly into the path of Sant Antoni's celebrated sunsets. In the kitchen, executive chef Ivan Arauz Beusink, formerly of Michelin-starred RIJKS in Amsterdam, brings a decade of fine dining discipline to an open-fire format built entirely around Josper grill cooking and micro-seasonal produce sourced from local fishermen, butchers and farming cooperatives. The sharing menu moves from gamba roja carpaccio and bone marrow chimichurri through to Spanish Wagyu short rib, with the list of small producers, biodynamic and natural wines matching the kitchen's commitment to provenance. As the evening deepens, the scent from the herb garden below carries up through the terraces, the music shifts, and Madunia becomes something closer to an event than a dinner. For those who want the west coast sunset with serious food to match, this is the address.

Playa Illetes, s/n, 07871 Formentera, Balearic Islands, Spain
Sitting directly on the sand at Playa Illetes, one of the most photographed stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean, Juan y Andrea has been operating since 1971 when local fisherman Juan Boned and his wife Andrea opened what was then little more than a beachside shack. Over five decades it has become one of the Balearics' most celebrated lunch destinations, drawing an international crowd of regulars who arrive by boat and by foot in equal measure. The format has not changed because it has not needed to: tables in the sand beneath palm shade, seafood pulled from the surrounding waters, and a kitchen that treats its ingredients with the confidence that only longevity earns. The menu moves through fresh Formentera prawns, clams à la marinara, fried razor clams and the island's famous lobster stew, alongside grilled fish and salt-baked whole catches of the day, with white wines and champagne completing the picture. For those making the short crossing from Ibiza, this is the reason the ferry exists.
PARTY
UNVRS
Located in San Rafael, halfway between San Antonio and Ibiza Town, [UNVRS] opened in 2025 on the site of Privilege, once the world's largest nightclub, and immediately rewrote the terms of what a club could be. Founded by Yann Pissenem of The Night League, the force behind Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza, the venue earned the DJ Mag number one club in the world for 2026 in its debut year, a distinction no venue had previously achieved so quickly. Three interconnected rooms deliver arena-scale production and festival-level sound and light systems, while a series of more intimate spaces, outdoor terraces and a bathroom rave room known as The Wild Comet ensure the night has range beyond the main floor. Weekly residencies across the 2026 season span Anyma, Carl Cox, David Guetta's Galactic Circus, Jamie Jones, John Summit, Tiësto and elrow, with one-off events filling the gaps. For those who want to understand where club culture is pointing next, and experience it at its most ambitious, the address is San Rafael.

HÏ IBIZA
Located on Playa d'en Bossa and opened in 2017 on the site of the legendary Space, Hï Ibiza has held the DJ Mag number one club in the world title four consecutive times, from 2022 through 2025, a record no other venue has matched. The building is split across two main rooms and a third wildcard dancefloor. The Theatre, designed around the proportions of a classical Italian amphitheatre, delivers big-room productions tailored individually to each residency, with bespoke audiovisual systems built from the ground up for every night of the week. The Club Room runs on a lower ceiling and closer energy, with the DJ booth positioned at eye-level so the crowd and artist share the same ground. The Wild Corner, set within the venue's bathrooms, has developed a reputation of its own for unannounced sets and the kind of spontaneous moments the rest of the club deliberately avoids. A rooftop terrace bar and the world's first designated in-club art gallery, created with London-based W1 Curates, complete the picture. The 2026 season spans Black Coffee, Dom Dolla, HUGEL, MEDUZA and James Hype, Skepta, Solomun, MESTIZA and a full roster of weekly residencies across every night from May to October. For those who want Ibiza's most technically refined club experience, this is the one.

PACHA
Founded in 1973 by brothers Ricardo and Piti Urgell on a plot of land in Talamanca just north of Ibiza Town, Pacha is the oldest continuously operating club on the island and the one against which every other venue is still measured. The twin red cherries, now one of the most recognisable logos in the world, were never designed to become a symbol of anything in particular, which is perhaps why they have lasted. The main room, refurbished and restructured multiple times over five decades with the most significant rebuild in 2017 by architect Juli Capella, places the DJ booth at the centre of a slightly sunken dancefloor surrounded by a tiered VIP arrangement, a layout built for crowd energy rather than spectacle. The 2026 season carries Solomun's long-running Sunday residency returning for another year, Marco Carola's Music On on Fridays, Sonny Fodera on Mondays, and the enduring Saturday night Flower Power, which has been running since 1981 and remains the clearest window into what the island was before it became what it is now. Guests of the hotel across the road receive complimentary entry. For those who want to understand the history of the island through its nightlife, this is where to start.

DESTINO
Perched on the clifftop of Cap Martinet above Talamanca Bay, Destino Five Ibiza operates as both a five-star hotel and one of the island's most visually striking day-to-night destinations, with panoramic views stretching across Dalt Vila, Formentera and the open Mediterranean. The property, now part of the FIVE Hotels and Resorts group following the acquisition of the Pacha Group in 2023, underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2025 and now runs entirely on renewable energy while holding LEED Platinum certification. The centrepiece is a cherry-shaped pool, a nod to its Pacha connection, surrounded by sunbeds, hammocks and jacuzzi, with poolside dining from Cielo for Mediterranean plates and Elia for Greek-influenced seafood in the evening. The 168 rooms and suites range from garden terraces to private cherry-pool hideaways and sea-view suites with freestanding baths. Weekly Pacha Icons pool parties bring Marco Carola, Solomun and others to the clifftop through the summer season, and hotel guests receive complimentary entry to Pacha Ibiza, a few minutes away. For those who want the full Pacha world without sleeping in it, this is the address.
